Learn Electric Guitar
Here's a short guide for how to play electric guitar
Deciding to learn electric guitar is an exciting thing. It can often come about after hearing a friend play or perhaps a particular solo in a song which you would ‘give anything to be able to play’. Basically you’ve been inspired to achieve something.
It’s going to help a lot if you’ve already had some experience playing chords and strumming on acoustic guitar. Usually starting with acoustic guitar is the cheapest and safest option because it allows you to see if you are really going to take to the instrument or not.
An important point is to think about which direction you wish to travel musically. Learning electric guitar for Jazz is vastly different from Indie, or Blues from Metal… you get the idea. Once you know what it is you’d like to be able to play it will simplify the search to find the right electric guitar lessons for the direction you wish to travel.
There’s no real hard and fast rule for how to learn electric guitar correctly. That’s why it’s so cool and accessible to everyone. For the fastest results my advice would be to use a combination of lessons with a local tutor and teaching yourself online. Here’s a final word of warning… I know you may be dying to play a particular song or riff but you must earn the right to be able to play it through dedication and practice. That means starting with really easy things and gradually building up your technique until its high enough to play what you want. You have to be patient, practice and earn those riffs.
If you try to learn electric guitar by jumping in the deep end and attempting things far too difficult for your level of playing you’re going to end up failing through frustration and loss of motivation.
